Winners of the ‘Ecology in Focus 2013′ photo competition

The ‘Ecology in Focus’ photographic competition 2013 for up-and-coming photographers from the Czech and Slovak Republic was held for the ninth time. About 500 photo enthusiasts submitted a more than 1000 photos to the competition. The creative snapshots testify to the numerous aspects of the topic ‘Science For a Better Life’. A panel of experts chose the best photos In October.

On November 6th in Prague the winners of this year’s competition were rewarded by Managing Director of Bayer, Frank Held. „ We have been trying for nine years to inspire general public through the messages expressed in photographs within ‘Ecology in Focus’ competition. We would like to inspire especially young people to become more interested in the environmental protection and also in natural sciences and research. We are commited to support public awarness for innovations bringing solutions for global challenges such as healthcare, nutritions, climate protection, sustainability, renewable resources and improving the quality of life. That is why we will further concentrate on science and education support by our engagement in initiative ‘Making Science Make Sense’ under our motto ‘Science For a Better Life’,” said Frank Held
